Getting to Faro by train - the station is situated in the city center. This is nearby the bus station just north of the Marina. It is a station building where its name is beautifully tiled. You can also see the ocean right behind it.
From here you can catch two Alpha pendular services. This is a high speed train that travels to and from Lisbon. The trip will take you two and half hours and the cost for single fare is 20 euro. If you travel first class, this will cost you 25 euro.
If you choose slower trains to Lisbon, this will take you three and half hours to get to your destination. You can also choose train services along the coast. If you want to go to the east, there is for Vila Real de Santo Antonio and Tavira. There is also one for the west to Lagos. This brings you from one location of the coast to another. You may also choose to travel by train from Faro towards the Spanish border. The track runs right along the Algarve coast. However, when you are getting to by train, you will not see much of the sea views than doing it by taxi or perhaps a rental car. You will only see much of the rural area. But you can enjoy endless almond blossoms and orange groves.
The train along the Algarve coast cost very cheaply and reasonably. This is a form of transportation you will want to travel towards Faro and the villages along the coast. If you do travel using this mode of transportation, ensure that you know how long it travels and that you get off the train really fast. You must also be informed that the train does not provide any announcements so always be prepared for its outcome.
